There are few words uttered in the workplace less loaded and more detested. If you’ve ever had a boss or co-worker sling this little nugget of humor your way when you’re heading out the door at 4:30PM (likely stressed out of your mind, willing to risk a reckless driving citation to pick up your suffering 3-year old or keep a personal commitment) you know just how grating it can be. The barb is always meant to be humors (lmao) but its veiled aim is to question your commitment to the job.
Our next book, Mass Career Customization: Aligning the Workplace with Today’s Nontraditional Workforce delivers straight talk on why flexible work arrangements have become relics of “old school” management and provides a new approach (Mass Career Customization/MCC) that responds to today’s realities on how work gets done and careers are built.
This book is so important it is referenced in the May 25th cover story in Time Magazine entitled, The Future of Work, in a section called, “We’re Getting Off the Ladder.”
The book is on the way. When you receive it, read it. We will be digging into this one with some great discussion topics, guest bloggers and more.
To ensure we really “get it” we’ve asked author Cathy Benko to deliver an exclusive webinar for us. This will be a live, interactive opportunity to listen to and speak directly with the author and get a better understanding of how the corporate workforce has, in two short generations, completely transformed.
